Description
Not only is this Turkey Meatloaf so moist and scrumptious, but the chili aioli takes it to a whole new level.
Ingredients
2 pounds DARK turkey meat
3 to 4 pieces turkey bacon, chopped
1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped
2 large garlic cloves, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons plus 1/2 cup ketchup
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 egg, lightly beaten
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degree F.
In a food processor, add the turkey bacon, onion, and garlic. Pulse three or four times, but stopping before bacon mixture turns to a paste.
In a large frying pan, heat olive oil. Add the bacon mixture to the pan and cook until slightly browned, approximately 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
In a large bowl, add the ground turkey, cooled bacon mixture, thyme, garlic powder, oats, milk, Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons ketchup, salt, pepper, and egg. Using your hands, combine the mixture well. Shape mixture into a rectangular loaf on a sheet pan covered in parchment paper. Brush loaf with the remaining ketchup.
Place a small pan of water in bottom of oven – this helps to keep the meatloaf super moist.
Bake meatloaf in oven for approximately 45 to 55 minutes, until cooked through.
Remove from oven, slice and serve with chili aioli.
